Hey gorgeous, welcome back to my blog!
Today I'll be doing a first impression review on the highly raved CYO Lifeproof Long Lasting Foundation that was strongly recommended by the popular Youtuber Thataylaa. The foundation was advertised as a long lasting one that really goes the distance, leaving the skin looking fresh and flawless around the clock, without the cakey feeling. I was really intrigued by this introduction so I got one from Shopee at $13.90 (30ml) to try out. If you are curious how this foundation looks like on oily skin like mine, or if you wanna know if it is suitable for normal to dry skin, then keep on scrolling!
Packaging of the foundation is pretty normal, it comes in a plastic bottle with a pump and it's really light so you can definitely carry it around with you and it's not much of a hassel.
There are a total of 15 shades for you to choose from, which I think is pretty amazing because there's definitely a suitable colour for all skin tones. For me, I chose shade 102 with a neutral undertone. I didn't want to go for the yellow undertone one, just because I felt that my skin is yellowish enough.
Shade 102 has a greyish undertone which was something new for me. The foundation has a watery consistency which makes it easy to blend and it is indeed very lightweight. It does not have much coverage though, so for the coverage I would probably rate it a light to medium. The website did mention that this foundation has full coverage but in my opinion, it didn't seem like the case. To increase the coverage, I went for my favourite 3CE Waterful Concealer and I felt that the concealer blended in well with the foundation, so that's definitely a plus point for me.
One other plus point for me is that the foundation has a satin finishing and it is not tacky at all so you don't need to set it down, if you don't want to. It did oxidise a little but not to the extent that it would become one shade darker which I felt was still acceptable.
And so that's my finishing look and I'll be back to update later on its longevity!
After 10 hours
One thing I noticed was that this foundation was totally smudge and transfer free. There was a few occasions when I was on the phone and usually when I did that with other foundations, my phone would have a layer of foundation on it but surprisingly for this CYO foundation, that did not happen at all! I was really amazed by this!
And the foundation stayed on all day without any sign of cakeyness. I did notice a little shine on my nose but that was also pretty acceptable for me since my nose is usually the oiliest.
So in conclusion, to my pleasant surprise, I think this foundation is really good in terms of its finishing. It is definitely a foundation that is suitable for all skin types and tones. On top of that, it is really very affordable for a foundation that is so long lasting. In fact, it is way cheaper than the other drugstore foundations in the market. The only thing that I wasn't quite happy about was the amount of coverage that it provides but like I also mentioned earlier, you can easily build the coverage with a concealer since the foundation itself is very buildable and blendable. Highly recommend this CYO Lifeproof Long Lasting Foundation!
And that's all I have for today's post, I hope you've enjoyed reading it and I'll see you in my next post, xoxo.
