Trying dUCk Cosmetics Prime Time Face Primer and All-Covered Makeup Foundation for the first time + wear test

Hey gorgeous, welcome back to my blog!

While I was doing some shopping on the Sephora website recently, I saw this one brand, dUck Cosmetics which I haven't heard before and I was really intrigued by its mattifying primer and foundation so I thought I should try it out and see if it's a good base makeup for oily skin type like mine. So if you're keen to see how this base makeup will fare on me, keep on reading!

dUck Cosmetics Prime Time Face Primer - Matte About You

First thing first, I think the name of this primer is very cute and appropriate. "They don't call it prime time news for nothing. The most important news of the day - this primer". How creative right?!

As for the packaging, I think the colour combination of purple and rose gold is quite unique as well.

This Prime Time Face Primer claims to be able to prolong and extend makeup wear and refines your pores at the same time so that you can have a flawless canvas to work with. It is also enriched with Sunflower Seed Oil to help protect skin from harmful UV rays and lessen fine lines and wrinkles caused by premature aging to provide you with a silky smooth, matte finish. Sounds amazing, don't you think so?

When I squeezed a bit of the primer onto my hand, I thought it's gonna be tinted since it's a little brownish in colour but as I spread it evenly and applied it onto my face, it blended into my skin colour so well. It has a siliconey texture, as expected from a pore refining primer and it does have a silky smooth finish.
I did notice that my pores became less visible after applying the primer, like it does fill up the pores in my opinion. My face was so much smoother as well so overall, I really like this primer and I think the price is also quite pocket friendly as it is retailing at $27 and I thought this is considered cheap for Sephora's standard.

dUCk Cosmetics All-Covered Foundation

The All-Covered Foundation is in the same colour combination as the Prime Time Face Primer and it comes with a pump which is amazing. The name All-Covered suggests that this is a high coverage foundation and this is what it claims to be. Aside from the coverage, it also claims to give off a matte finish that is perfect for oily to combination skin types.

I got mine in shade 03 Cashew and thankfully it matches me perfectly. It has a mousse-like texture that blends seamlessly into the skin when I applied it with a makeup sponge.

Right side of my face done
After applying one layer of the foundation to the right side of my face, I can tell that my dark circle was visibly lighter and my blemishes were 70% covered so I would say the coverage is indeed medium to high.

After applying to the whole face, I went for a second layer but only focusing on the areas that I wanted higher coverage, i.e. my undereyes, the area beside my nose as well as my blemishes. I noticed that the foundation was really very buildable and it did not set into my fine lines or crease under the eyes which I really like. I decided not to set the foundation nor did I go for any setting spray just so that I can really test its long wearing effect without any additional products to improve the long wearing function.

The above photo was taken after 8 hours and I must say the base makeup still pretty much looked the same as when I first applied. No shine or greasiness even on my oiliest tzone area. So far so good. But I did notice a slight creasing on my undereyes but it wasn't too much of a concern to me.

And after 12 hours of wearing the foundation without setting powder and setting spray, I must say this All-Covered Foundation is really very long wearing and it really did not budge even after 12 hours. It is definitely more suitable for oily and combination skin types but I do feel that normal to slightly dry skin can try this out as well because the foundation is not very drying in my opinion. It has more like a natural finish and my face didn't feel dry at all even with the mattifying primer. This foundation is retailing at $39 for 50ml and I think the price is really awesome as well. I am definitely going back to purchase more of the dUCk Cosmetics products now!

So in conclusion, I really like the Prime Time Face Primer as well as the All Covered Makeup Foundation and I think they really perform up to the standard and as per what they claim they do. They are pretty affordable as well so if you have oily or combination skin type, I highly recommend these 2 products.

And that's all I have for this post. I hope you have a good time reading. Please follow me if you haven't already and I will see you in my next post, xoxo.
