Hope everyone had an awesome countdown last night and do share with me your new year resolutions, I am interested to know! Haha. My new year resolution is to stay happy and follow my dreams. I will strive to work harder to create more new contents for my readers out there, so stay tuned for more exciting stuff coming up ahead!
Well enough said, let's start with my first post of the year. Just as my title suggested, I will be doing a review on the makeup collaboration that my goddess, Gigi Hadid had done with Maybelline which was launched in Nov 2017.

First up is the Gigi Hadid BB Cushion. FYI, I am actually not a fan of cushion foundation as it is usually too dewy for my oily/combination skin. I was quite sceptical to try this on my face and I was secretly hoping it will not look too greasy on me.

A little goes a long way for this product as it really does have pretty strong coverage. I applied a little onto my face with the sponge provided and my dark circles were already 70% covered, and so were my pores. I also love how it did not feel sticky on my face even though it is supposed to be a very hydrating foundation and the fact that it has SPF 29 PA +++ is another plus point to me as it means that I can skip the sun block on lazy days. On the other hand, as it consists of more than 60% of hydrating essence, it may be a little dewy for people with combination or oily skin like me. Hence, before I applied this foundation, I make sure to prime my face with shine control primer, just to be sure that my face will not look too greasy after few hours.
Overall, I feel that this BB cushion suits dry skin more since it is a very hydrating foundation but I really do like the finishing of the foundation as it evens out my skin tone and covers up my dark circles pretty well with only a thin layer of application. The BB cushion is retailing at $28.90 and I think the price is really reasonable as well.

Next up is the Gigi Liquid Strobe and I got mine in the shade Iridescent. Honestly, I don't recommend anyone buying this as it has almost no effect on my face at all! I did swatch on my hand and the shimmer seems rather promising even though it was more on the glittery end. However, once I applied it to my face and try to blend it out, it almost looked like there is nothing on my face! No shimmer, no glitter, no nothing. I tried to apply a second layer and it was the same effect. I guess one way to make this product work is to either mix with your primer or foundation to create an overall more glowing finishing but do not ever try to use this product alone, because you will never get the highlighting effect that you initially wanted.

The third product that I have tested is the Gigi Hadid dual-ended fibre mascara and yasss I love this a lot. The wands make the mascara so easy to apply onto my lashes and I love how the fibre does not "fly around" or slip into my eyes, making them uncomfortable. One layer of the fibre followed by the mascara is all you need for the dramatic length that you yearn for. Dip into the mascara for a second layer and you can achieve the voluminous effect that you want. The only downside is that this mascara is kinda expensive for a drugstore mascara. It is retailing at $23.90, way more expensive than my other drugstore mascara favourites. But oh well, this is a dual-ended mascara and you do get Gigi Hadid's signature on it so I guess, why not right?
The Gigi Hadid Ultra Fluffy brow pencil is the next product that I am gonna share about. Love how the pencil is so slim and easy to hold in my hand. When I first swatched it on my hand, I was quite worried as the product did not glide on smoothly onto my hand. And to my surprise, when I applied it on my brows, the product came out so smoothly! I also really like the application of the pencil as I was able to create a precise tail with this. The brow pencil is said to contain an unique gel-to-powder formula that is said to be able to last you all day. I don't really see the changes from gel to powder but my brows did look the same for the entire day so I think it is still quite long lasting.
Last but not least, is the Gig Hadid Colorsens Lipstick and I daresay that this is my favourite product in this whole Gigi Hadid with Maybelline collaboration. Totally adore how the lipstick can be applied so effortlessly on my lips and the creamy matte finishing is totally to die-for. As you probably know by now that I have extremely dry lips and most matte lipsticks do not work well on my lips but this works wonder for me! And to top it up, the lipstick last WHOLE DAY, yes, whole day even after three full meals. (WHUTTT). I have mine in the shade Austyn in the pictures below and this is also the shade that Gigi Hadid loves the most. So if you are only thinking of getting one shade, please try Austyn out!
Fun fact: Gigi Hadid named these lipsticks after the people she loves.
