Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick First Impression + Wear Test

Hey gorgeous, welcome back to my blog!

So in today's post, I'll be doing a first impression and wear test for the popular Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick which I recently purchased (like finally!) and if you are curious to see how I thought about the foundation stick, keep on reading!

Before I get started, let's see what Hourglass claims that this Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick does. It claims to be a revolutionary foundation stick with the coverage of a concealer, the fluidity of a liquid and the weightlessness of a powder in a long wearing waterproof formula for undetectable full coverage. The unprecedented concentration of pigment in this foundation provides maximum coverage with minimum product, concealing all discolouration and imperfections for flawless skin with a seamless finish. Sounds amazing right? Let's see how it looks like on me then!

Let's take a look at the packaging of this foundation stick first. I must say, I am really loving this triangle prism packaging because it is so easy and comfortable to hold in the hand while applying the foundation to the face. There are a total of 32 shades for this Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick and I think this is pretty extensive and I'm sure there is bound to be a shade that will suit everyone out there. I got mine in Vanilla, a light shade with cool undertone and thankfully it suits me perfectly.

First thing that I noticed was that the foundation glided smoothly onto my skin and it was so lightweight that I didn't feel that I was actually applying foundation to my skin. And the coverage was insanely good, I mean, it does claim to be a foundation and concealer at the same time but I was still pleasantly surprised that I only had to apply a thin layer to cover my dark circles.

In the above photos, I had already applied the Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation onto the right side of my face and you can see that my dark circles were already 80% covered! The formula is very buildable so you can add as much product to your face as you desired to achieve that flawless look. It is not heavy on the skin and it gives a skin-like, natural finish in my opinion. It is also not very tacky but I still prefer to set it with a setting powder, also to prevent it from transferring. I love that it is not drying nor is it dewy so I thought it is one foundation that suits all skin types.

Also, to test its longevity, I decided not to use any setting spray so that the result is more accurate and unbiased.

After 5 hours of application, I did notice that the foundation oxidised a little and my face was probably 0.5 shade darker than before. But the makeup was not cakey nor was there any dry patch on my face. I also did not notice any shine on my face, not even the t zone area and I thought that was quite impressive for a stick foundation as usually stick foundation doesn't work on my oily skin.

And after 10 hours of application, my base makeup was basically still looking pretty much the same as before except the forehead which was usually the oiliest and I could tell that the makeup was almost gone in between the brows. But other than that, everything else was good and intact, without any touch up in the day.

All in all, I really love the coverage and finishing of this foundation as I think that it does really give a medium to high coverage and the finishing is very natural and seamless. The only thing that I can find myself complaining is the price tag of this stick foundation. It is retailing at $76 in Sephora and you only get yourself a 7.2g product. That's expensive but because of its high pigmentation, you actually need not use too much of the product so one stick can probably last you few months, even if you wear it regularly. I am definitely giving this Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick a five stars.

And that's all I have for this first impression and wear test review on the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick. I hope you have enjoyed reading it. Please follow me if you haven't already and I'll see you in my next post, xoxo.
