Thrift My Outfit

Hey guys, welcome back to my blog!

So in today's post, I will be sharing five outfits that I got for myself at ridiculously good prices. If you are on a budget but still wanna shop, here's a post you cannot miss!

First on the list is this white denim dungaree with a very cute half-filled cup embroidered on it. The material was a thin denim hence it was really comfy to put on. When I first got the item, I almost thought that there were some defects in the item as the shoulder strap was detached and there wasn't anything available to fix it back. When I went back to the page to see how it actually looked like, I realised that you really only need to tie them into a knot and voila! I especially love that there is a huge pocket in the front and back so that I can place my small items like ezlink card and coins in it. Talk about convenience haha.

In the photo below, I matched this cute dungaree with a pink top from Forever 21. For shoes, I opted for a casual look which was why I went for my good old Birkenstock. This outfit goes well with a pair of sneakers as well.

The quality of this dungaree is beyond fantastic and for the price that I paid ($8), it's absolutely a bargain. To make things even better, the dungaree has cute frills at the bottom! I would say the length is just right for me as I am 163cm tall.

Budget for this outfit is approximately $20: $8 for the dungaree and $12 for the top from Forever 21.

PS: I will be putting up all the links and where I got these items at the end of this post (if they are still available) for your reference.

The second outfit was the Layered Ruffles Shift Dress in Pea Green colour which I got from Dressabelle  when they were  having a 52% off selected items sales. This dress was already on sale and was selling at $19 and I thought it's already such a great deal because honestly, how often can you get an online shop apparel at less than $20?! So with the additional 52% discount, I got it for only 9 bucks?!

I was first attracted to this dress because of the colour. It was in such an unique green and I hadn't own any apparel in this shade of green I carted it out without thinking twice.

The dress is made of chiffon so it is quite thin and very suitable to wear in Singapore's warm climate. It is also not sheer even under sunlight and that was a plus point for me too. The ruffled details of the dress gave it a more feminine touch.  However, you can't wear this dress with a normal bra though because the top part is sheer so do get a strapless bra for this.

I paired the dress with a black mules for a casual chic look. I was so into mules after watching Jenn Im's video and how highly she raved about it. Turns out, mules does go well with almost anything!  From casual to formal, you can pair any kind of outfit with a trustee pair of mules. I got this pair of black one for $9 and I must say it's super comfy, so much so that I had to purchase another colour which you will see in the later part of this post. There are four colours in total;, pink, grey, black and khaki.

Budget for this second outfit is also about $20: dress @ $9 and mules @ $9.50
PS: the dress is now selling at $19 but I still think it's worth every penny.

The third outfit is an off shoulder dress which was love at first sight for me. I have a thing for off shoulders as I think it flaunts my collar bones and hides my fat arms so well. When I saw this cute pastel vertical stripes dress, I immediately carted it out. But honestly when I first received it, I was super disappointed. The material was extremely thin and I thought it would be really sheer since there wasn't any inner lining too. Luckily, I was determined to make it work so I ended up wearing a grey leggings beneath the dress to make it look like there was an inner lining. I wore it out like that and no one was able to tell! As for the top, I went for a nude bra and it was good to go. You can also try wearing in the toga style as that was how it was displayed on the website.

This dress is totally not stretchable at all except for the sleeves so do get one size up if you are unsure. I got the M size for this and it fitted me well and I am a usual UK6-8.

To complete this look, I went for a pair of nude heels from Something Borrowed to give that optical illusion that I was way taller than I really am. I wanted the dress to be the highlight of the outfit hence I chose a pair of shoes that would not steal the limelight.

Budget for this third outfit is about $24: $12 for dress and $12 for the heels (no longer available on Zalora's website but you can match it with any other nude heels that you have).

The fourth outfit is one of my favourite, featuring an off shoulder top (again) that has got leaves printed on it. It is made of cotton, and is super light weighted and soft. The large leaves ensured that, the top is not sheer even though I got myself a white one. This design also comes in black but I thought I have too many black tops in my wardrobe already. I paired the top with a plain black skinny jeans and a pair of white sneakers that has got roses embroidered on it on both sides. I feel that this outfit is suitable for any occasion as it is super comfy and easy to pull off. Plus, the skinnies made my legs look slim too!

Budget for this outfit is approximately $18: $6 for top, $4 for skinnies and $8 for the pair of sneakers (say whut)!

The last outfit in my opinion is effortlessly chic. Seriously what could possibly go wrong with a blue on blue outfit right? The blue top here is of cotton material and is really cooling in Singapore's hot and humid weather. If you are a fan of Zara, you would have probably noticed that they are selling an exact same design at almost 40bucks but I got this top at only $8! Hehehe

There are black stripes printed on the top and I really love the scallops hem which gave this top a touch of class.  To match things up, I paired it with a denim jeans that I got from Primark a few years ago when I was on holiday in London. I also wore it with the exact same mules you saw earlier but this time in Khaki. See what I meant when I said a pair of mules is all you need for any outfit? Also, to spice things up a little, I took my straw bucket bag out for a walk in order to create a summer look.

Total budget for this outfit: $40. Top at $8, jeans from Primark at $16, mules at $9 and bucket bag at $6.
